What is TACT:

TACT is owned and operated by practicing school principals and
administrators. Every morning they get up and go to their schools and
work with children and teachers.  Who do you want preparing you for your
new educational career?

The Rio Grande Valley is one of the fastest growing areas in the country
and there is an increasing demand for highly qualified teachers in area
districts.

The purpose of Texas Alternative Center for Teachers (TACT),
in collaboration with area school districts, is to provide
candidates with an exceptional program centered on quality
preparation for the person interested in becoming a Teacher in
Texas.

If you have a degree and are ready to make an impact in the lives of
students and work in a  rewarding profession with opportunities for
advancement, call TACT.

Overview

The TACT program focuses on quality instruction and training
targeting student achievement.  The TACT curriculum is driven
by the Texas Educator Standards, TExES Framework and is
aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.
Additionally, the TACT program includes an extensive on-going
support system for the first three years of the participant’s
teaching experience. TACT’s intensive field supervision and
mentoring during the first year continues to support applicants in
